"Is it really here?" The question by the new visitor who approaches the entrance is legitimate. Located in a nice condo development near downtown Mont-Saint-Hilaire, the Centre d'action bénévole is rather discreet, except for the sign located a few steps from the entrance. However, things are bubbling inside as CAB employees are busy supervising various projects as well as a team of about 400 volunteers.
Since 1969, the CAB has offered many services aimed at combating poverty and social exclusion in the region. For example, there's a thrift store (main photo), food assistance, meals on wheels, an accompaniment and transport service for the elderly and even a telephone service to break the isolation of people living alone. Check out the website to see a complete list. In addition to all that, the centre welcomes us so we can offer affordable glasses to the people of Mont-Saint-Hilaire.

Indeed, every Thursday morning, two opticians set up shop in a large room in the CAB to offer glasses, but also to make some repairs and answer customer questions. It's by appointment so don't forget to call 450-467-9373 before coming over to meet them.. All your need is your prescription, we'll take care of the rest!
